This Just In: Apple to Revamp its iPad

Apple fans get ready!

Your favorite iPad is reported to be getting a revamp this coming March, together with an eye-catching color for the iPhone 7 and 7 plus, and plans for a 128gb iPhone SE. Apple is also set to unveil for bigger iPads next month, ranging from 7.9 inches to 12.9 inch models.

So what does this mean for Apple fans?

This simply means that those who have the current iPad mini 4 will be replaced with a much better model of the iPad with bigger and wider screens and a refreshing new OS; according to the Japanese website, Macotakara.

Macotakara also reports that these newer models of the iPad Pro would still pretty look the same as its mini counterpart although it would have an edge-to-edge display, the proposed 7.9 model will come equipped with a 12mp iSight camera with True Tone flash and a display similar to its larger counterparts, it will also come with a Smart Connector and run on A9X chips while its bigger brothers will have the A10x.

Macotakara continues its report that a red variant for the iPhone 7 and 7 plus are also in the works, as well as a much better iPhone SE with a whopping 128gb storage capacity. The iPhone SE is rumored to be a 4-inch phone that is said to have a great number of improvements from the 2013 iPhone, including having NFC support that will allow users contact-less payments for purchases and the likes with Apply Pay. The iPhone SE is also said to include Live Photos along with it 12mp rear camera and a 1,642 mAh battery, we might also see much newer iWatch bands next month with names such as Space Black Milanese Loop. While these all sound exciting, remember that tech news such as this do not mean you should immediately upgrade your gadget, this holds true especially for those who do buy gadgets every 3 to 5 years or those who are completely new to the world of Apple; although some are simply compelled to buy a new product once a new update is announced.

Also rumored for the upcoming launch is perhaps the much anticipated upgrade for the Macbook range that many had been waiting for.

Hopefully, this revamp on the iPad can help put it back on track as the US technology has suffered dwindling sales on its tablets in the last couple of years, although the iPad Pro and the iPad 9.7 inch model are still well received by many even up to day especially for the creative individuals. Apple is also set to introduce its OLED display on its iPads by 2018.

Although still in its planning stages, sources close to Apple says that the technology giant has no plans to remove the 3.5 mm earphone jack on its revamped iPads unlike it did on the iPhone 7 and 7 plus back in 2016.

Apple is also set to launch three new smartphones this year with the iPhone 7 Pro being the flagship model which is rumored to have dual cameras and wireless charging similar to the iPad Pro.

Robots At Your Service

Online shopping is not a new concept, in fact, it has been around since the first model of computers and similar devices were made, however, since the emergence of handheld devices, smartphones, tablets, and even wearable technology, this increased the demand for online purchases in no less than a few years thus making it hard for most companies to come up with a customer service plan that sticks. Because of this, many companies are having a hard time getting their customer’s orders in time by not forsaking the human side in business.

Human Business

The internet has made many if not almost all businesses seemingly connected, establishing yourself out there has never been easier and indeed does help in boosting revenues, however, while automation has helped, those who are not very tech-savvy suffer.  It has been reported that 70-80 % of consumers trust online reviews for their purchases, businesses who are not technologically inclined will suffer since they do not have reviews, but even these businesses suffer.

Despite many businesses claiming that they have the best customer service in the world, this wouldn’t be possible without cutting off some processes and yes, even people in your customer service. Many of us will quickly buy from a shop that has 5 star reviews but also many of us won’t buy if any sales representative from our favorite brand will talk to us too coldly. Sure, canned responses make the ordering or booking process faster however, many of us fail to realize that by doing this, we are alienating our customers from us, this also causes confusion between both sides when a problem arises. As much as we hate to admit it, no matter how annoying that live chat window is, we consumers still prefer to have a human being help us out from the other side of the screen.

 From Production Line

It’s not surprising to find robots in the production line of various factories around the world especially in highly industrialized countries, now before you protest and panic over an impending robot apocalypse, know that not all machines will replace us, for now.  These robots do help in speeding up our production and lessen the load of jobs that are too dangerous for us human.

To the Sky and Right on Your Doorstep

With the kind of technology we have today, there’s bound to be a lot of creative pursuits in store for many business owners, one such kind is with the help of drones. Amazon and UPS have started tests for using drones in helping them deliver the order of their customers, and yes, it is a very innovative endeavor however it appears to be only applicable in theory, for now. (Note that not every country today is open to the concept of drones flying in and around a city as many see them as a nuisance or distraction especially in air space and traffic.) However, this doesn’t mean we should give up, perhaps with enough time and fewer restrictions, we could someday see our packages literally being dropped from the sky (with a parachute attached, of course) or being delivered by a sleek robot in the near future.

A Black Mirror Future

It wasn’t long ago that my Yemeni friend in Malaysia introduced me to this NetFlix series, of course, being the picky potato that I am,  I was rather reluctant as I was still recovering from a failed X-Files binge (iFlix why!) But due to his persistence and my curiosity, I signed myself up for a NetFlix account after work.

For those who are unfamiliar, Black Mirror is a British science fiction anthology series that deals with the dark side of integrating man and machine – think of it as Big Brother but in the Twilight Zone.

Will we find ourselves in a similar room soon?

A Black Mirror Future

For many of us, humanity has a long way to go to reach the same grandeur similar to that of what we see in Black Mirror,  in fact, we are much more closer to the brink of extinction rather than a technological renaissance.  However,  know that we are already living in a Black Mirror world; well, minus the MASS system and new world order. Yet, how close are we indeed to a world like that of in Black Mirror?

A More Social Social Media

We are surrounded by black mirrors in our daily lives nowadays, from TV screens, laptops, smartphones, tablets, and even smart watches. We are truly connected to each other more than ever, yet although subtle, we spend more of our time immersed in validating our virtual lives in social media rather than of the actual events in our world; so much so that we spend so much time in keeping up with things that are of little or no relevance to us just so we could keep up with the trends and happenings in our world today.

Blurred Lines between Reality and Fantasy

What really pulled me and perhaps, several others into the show was of how real it all seemed, one moment I was sitting transfixed on my phone, the next moment I was watching a certain politician sign his first ever Executive Order that made waves all over the world. (Don’t worry, nothing in the likes of bestiality has happened yet or is there?)

Indeed, technology has significantly enhanced our lives over the past decade making everything available at the touch of our fingertips, broken down barriers in communication thus making our world seemingly intertwined as if almost by magic yet despite these advancements, technology has also pulled many of us into the murky darkness.

Our dependence with technology is not without its downsides, indeed it has helped mankind reach the farthest and deepest of land, air, sea, and even space yet it has also alienated us from each other, most if not many of us would rather hold on to biased and incorrect information rather than seek the truth hidden underneath several layers of filtered alternate facts. Also because of this, we have succumbed to become thoughtless and formless vessels who would digest everything we can lay our hands on. In fact, also because of the availability of gadgets at our disposal, many of us have become de-synthesized to the world around us, only caring about ourselves and what our followers think of us.
